Flash back to 2007 – the radio can’t stop playing Umbrella, McLovin is an icon, Facebook rules social media, and I’m a pimply college kid randomly sitting in a media planning class wearing cargo shorts (no regrets).
Did I know then that I’d find connecting the dots between people, brands, and pop culture so enjoyable? Nope. Did the teacher remind me of big cheese Bert Cooper from Mad Men? Yup.
After graduating with a degree in Advertising/Business, I got into account planning at a couple of ad shops in San Francisco. But my strat lines sounded more like taglines and I preferred wearing Chucks over Oxfords. The natural next step was to become a copywriter. So, off to Miami Ad School I went.
I’ve been a professional copywriter now for the past decade or so – 2 years in SF, 9 years in NYC – melding my strategic and creative experience to craft ads and ads that don’t look like ads.
